Frances Moore

Ms. Frances Carol Moore, 75, of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Blytheville, Arkansas, entered into eternal rest on October 19th, 2015 after an extended illness. Frances was born on September 16th, 1940 in Columbia, Missouri to Willis and Mabelle Rogers Moore. She attended University High School in Carbondale, Illinois followed by Southern Illinois University where she received her B.A. and M.A. in History. Frances also attended Ball State University finishing coursework towards a doctoral degree in Social Science. She spent twenty-three years working at Arkansas Northeastern College as an instructor of Social Sciences teaching courses on Western Civilization, U.S. History, Sociology, African Perspectives, and Personal Development. She was also an Assistant Professor at Northern Arizona University, Manchester College, and McPherson College during her career. She was a member of numerous historical associations and community groups. Frances will be remembered for touching the lives of thousands of students in her career. She was a lifelong learner, attending numerous summer institutes and archeological digs. Frances enjoyed traveling, reading, and loved animals, especially pugs.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Janet Moore and Sarah Moore Scott, and her brother, William Moore.

Ms. Moore leaves two nephews, Mark Moore of Charleston, South Carolina and Victor Scott of Seattle, Washington

One niece, Laura Meredith Lamminen of Flower Mound, Texas;

One great-niece and two great nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances' name can be made to the Blytheville Humane Society.
