Minnie Alene Hicks

Minnie Alene Hicks, 90, of Osceola, died of heart failure on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Osceola Therapy and Living.

Born Oct. 19, 1924, in Hope, she was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church in Luxora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Elizabeth Chism; her husband, Willie Hicks; and her brothers, Billy James (Dibo) Chism, Lee "Boy" Chism and Charles Chism.

Mrs. Hicks leaves one daughter, Brenda (Ronnie) Woods of Blytheville;

One son, Tommy (Norma) Hicks of Osceola;

Nine sisters, Elizabeth Pitts, Vivian Watkins, Lela McGuarrity, Adell Freeman, Vera Jackson, Clair Howard, Helen Sporletter, Dorothy Light and Charlene Tedford;

Two brothers, John Chism and Clyde Chism; and

Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Benny Isom, will begin directly following visitation, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
