Letters sought for soldier in Afghanistan

Thursday, March 27, 2014

To the editor:

My granddaughter has been deployed to Afghanistan with her Army Reserve unit. She has been there 6 weeks and will be there 9 months.

I would kindly like to ask my friends and neighbors here in Mississippi County to send her and her unit cards and letters.

Teachers, maybe your classrooms could draw pictures and send notes, also Sunday school classes, Boy or Girl Scout troops could also get involved. These young men and women love to receive letters letting them know they are being remembered.

I just don't want these soldiers to be forgotten. We are still sending troops over to Afghanistan, and it looks like we will continue to be there even after 2014. This is a war we are sending our soldiers into, and we are still losing soldiers each and every day, not to mention the ones being injured.

Her address is:

Sgt. Kayla Boden
302nd MP Co.
Camp Phoenix
APO AE 09320

Thank you for remembering our young men and women who are fighting for our freedom each and every day all across our planet.

God Bless America.
