Raymond David Paschal

Mr. Raymond David Paschal, 82, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, in Gosnell.

Born in Roseland to Homer Addison and Lilly Jewel Ragsdale Paschal, he was of the Baptist faith. David was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors. He had a deep love for farming and it was much more than just a job to him. Even after being confined to his walker, he would stand watch and have Shawn do his gardening as he instructed. He loved to read and used to love to ride motorcycles. He was a truck driver, retiring from Stracener Brothers. Mr. Paschal was in the United States Navy, serving his country in the Korean War.

Mr. Paschal was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Ann Martin Paschal; his brothers Roger Paschal, Dan Paschal, Joe Paschal; and sisters Rosemary Fleming and Ruth Tosh.

He leaves his son, Shawn Edward and (and Cheri) Paschal of Gosnell;

A granddaughter, Kathleen Shyann Thornton of Laurel, Miss.;

A grandson, Shawn David Paschal of Gosnell;

Four step-grandchildren, Devin Tubbs, Gracen Tubbs, Dalton Tubbs and Carrington Tubbs, all of Gosnell;

A brother, Russell Paschal of Memphis; and

A sister, Reida Berry (and Ed) Marshall of Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
