Mr. Tex B. Turner, 68, of Byhalia, Miss., formerly of Blytheville, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Born in Blytheville to Dink and Linnie Turner, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He enjoyed watching football, especially when his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, was playing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dollie Ruth Jones.

He leaves his wife, Dorothy Acree Turner of Byhalia, Miss.;

His step-children, Joyce Gillock of Memphis, Ken Purdom and James Purdom, both of Byhalia, and Patty Capers-Fitzherbert of Stevesville, Mont.;

A brother, Bobby Turner of Memphis;

A sister, Jean Phillips of Gosnell;

Eight grandchildren;

Three great-grandchildren;

Seven great-great-grandchildren; and

Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.
