Mary Patricia 'Patti' Hale

Mrs. Mary Patricia "Patti" Hale, of Burdette, passed away Sunday evening, May 18, 2014. She was born April 23, 1951, to Herman and Mary C. McCartney Riggs. She lived most of her life in Paragould, Blytheville and Burdette.

She enjoyed the computer, especially writing her blogs and social media. She loved taking pictures and spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were very important to her and she "lit up" when they were around. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed traveling. She researched her family's genealogy and published it in a book.

She was owner/operator of Post Impressions on Main Street in Blytheville for several years.

She also worked in advertising for many years including radio KLCN and KHLS, KAIT Television, and the Blytheville Courier News. She studied English at Arkansas State University.

She was a devoted Democrat and very active in the Democratic Party.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blytheville.

She was founder and sponsor of the annual Deviled Egg Day in Burdette.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Riggs.

She is survived by her husband, George Hale of Burdette;

Her children, Bret (and Angie) Ellington of Fayetteville, Whitney Rae (and Corey) Balentine of Rogers, George "Trey" (and Stephanie) Hale Burdette, and Charlee Predmore of Burdette;

Two sisters, Barbara (and Larry) Cox of Paragould, Dorothy Jean (and Gary) Edwards of Paragould;

One brother, Mike Riggs of Richardson, Texas;

Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and

A host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Blytheville. Visitation will be from 10-noon. Dr. Robin Moore will officiate.
