Leachville voters approve 1-cent tax

Unofficial numbers show Leachville voters overwhelmingly said yes to the proposed one-cent city sales tax. Voting ended on Tuesday with 151 yes votes and 40 no votes as the measure passed by 79.06 percent. The count should be certified by Monday. The one-cent sales tax will be divided with one-fourth going to the Leachville Fire Department; one-fourth going to the Police Department and one-half going for capital improvements (water and sewer)...

Lewis appointed to school board

On Tuesday the Blytheville school board held a special meeting where they unanimously appointed Carlony Lewis as the new board member after the recent passing of board member Henrietta Watt, who resigned from the board last month after five years.
