Hawks indicted by grand jury

Former local business owner Brad Hawks, along with employee Larry Coleman, were indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury in Little Rock in connection with alleged illegal firearm sales. Hawks, Inc., which is now under a new name and different management unconnected with Hawks and Coleman, was a federal firearms licensee and occasionally purchased guns from federally licensed and out of state firearms dealers through www.gunbroker.com. ...

Parks and rec discuss parks; soccer fields

The Blytheville Parks and Recreation Committee met Thursday and discussed items including funding Thunder Bayou Golf Links through August, possibly filling in the Williams Park swimming pool and current conditions at the soccer field. Parks and Recreation Director Elroy Brown informed the committee that he had received bids for grinding multiple stumps in addition to the work already approved regarding removing dangerous limbs at Walker Park. ...
