I like to consider myself a disciple of the "shop local" ideology. The idea is that when local people buy locally, local people benefit. That's why I couldn't help but feel a little guilty Saturday afternoon as I left town to seek medical care. But when it really comes down to it, I had little choice.

Students in for big surprises in show

This week the Arts Council of Mississippi County is presenting "The Musical Tale of Peter Rabbit," performed by Bits 'N Pieces Puppet Theater at the Ritz Civic Center. With many of these puppets being more than 10-feet tall, live face actor and puppet designer/creator Holli Rubin said audience members may be in for some "big" surprises.

Quorum Court taking action on unpaid jail fees

Quorum Court Justices took action Tuesday night to obtain payment from the city of Blytheville for delinquent jail and landfill fees. The city owes Mississippi County a total of $801,871.41 in back fees.
