Police reponse to home burglary criticized
To the editor:
I'm writing this letter as a concerned citizen, because my home was burglarized a few weeks ago and I didn't get any response or feedback from the Blytheville Police Department. And I do not appreciate some of the comments mentioned by one of the officers who responded to the my home.
I pay my taxes and obey the laws of this city and I expect to be treated with respect no matter what neighborhood I live in. I was informed by one of the officers that there were several burglaries that had taken place a few months prior to mine. Maybe if they would patrol our neighborhood more and show a little more visibility, this might stop some of the crime in this city.
As a citizen and a taxpayer, I demand and have the right to be respected. This may upset some people, but after being violated with the break-in to my home, I don't really care!
