Lonzo Weatherspoon, Jr. was born September 24, 1949 in Blytheville.

He was the son of Lonzo, Sr. and Rena Bell Weatherspoon.

On October 29, 2018 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Lonzo transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home; he was 69 years old.

Lonzo was an exceptional cook working at the Holiday Inn in Blytheville as the executive chef for many years. He enjoyed watching martial arts movies and listening to music; Bruce Lee was his favorite actor and Sam Cooke was his favorite vocalist.

Lonzo was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vera, and a son, Alfred.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory his companion, Martha Alexander of the home, three daughters, Patricia (Erwin) Vaughn of Memphis; Shireta (Timothy) Rogers of Tampa, FL; and Antionette (Keith) Peoples of Jonesboro; two sons, Robert (Angela) Weatherspoon of Osceola; and Henry McKinney of Memphis; one sister, Mattie (Lonnie) Murphy of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Andrew Weatherspoon also of Tulsa, OK; one god-daughter, Anita Sample of Memphis; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Prince of Peace Church, 501 East McHaney Street. Terrell Rogers is the pastor and Timothy Rogers will deliver the eulogy, burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette.

Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11:00 until service time at noon. McDonald-Horne Funeral Directors are in charge of services and arrangements.
