Ruby Johnston Ward, 90, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Gosnell Therapy and Living Center.

Ruby was born in Morrilton, Arkansas in 1928. She was retired from American Greetings and a member of First Baptist Church. She was an Air Force wife and Hawaii was her favorite place to be stationed. Several years ago, she took her family back to Hawaii to visit. Ruby loved to grow flowers and work in her flower beds. She also loved square dancing and going to Branson to see the shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ward; and her mother, Willie Johnston.

Ruby leaves three children, Pat O’Neal (Clyde) of Blytheville, Mary Walters (Ned) of Gosnell, and Joe Ward (Marta) of Blytheville; brother, Bobby Johnston (JoAnn) of Dinuba, California; sister, Barbara Chance of Atwater, California; seven grandchildren, Shawn O’Neal (Shannon) of Gosnell, Kevin O’Neal (April) of Manila, Jeremy Ward (Heather) of Blytheville, Jason Ward of Blytheville, Tiffany Hoskins (Chance) of Dell, Angie Walters (Steve) of Gosnell, and Allison Hinson (Kyle) of Gosnell; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
