Sammy Shearin, 73, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Sammy was born in Blytheville to Harry B. and Margaret Ruth (Mullins) Shearin. He was the owner and operator of Shearin’s RV Park and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. Sammy was an avid reader and Razorback football fan. He was a partner with brother, Harry, in his business ventures in real estate and the restaurant business. He worked in Indonesia and the Gulf Coast with off shore oil business. His mother, Ruth, owned Ruth’s Clothing and he helped in managing that store as well. Whenever Sammy had the chance, he loved to canoe, kayak and fish. He was a great cook and was known for his delicious barbeque.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry B. Shearin, Jr.; and sister, Elva Shearin.

Sammy leaves two children, Margaret Rene’ Bompartito of Fort Pierce, Florida and John Shearin (Vicki) of Middleburg, Florida; one brother, Don Shearin (Diane) of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Anthony Bompartito, Joseph Bompartito, Victoria Bompartito, Brittney Shearin, and Trevor Shearin; five nieces and nephews, Karan Shearin, Trey Shearin (Cynthia), Sally Schroeder, Amy Linscheer (Enrico), and Riley Shearin; and 11 great-nieces and nephews, Brad Shearin (Megan), Marel Shearin, Howard Shearin, Asa Shearin, Samantha Schroeder, David Schroeder, Giovanni Linscheer, Melina Linscheer, Elizabeth Linscheer, John Riley Shearin, and Grace Shearin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
