Martha Halsell Nowlin

Martha Halsell Nowlin, 91, of Ellisville, Missouri and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Martha Lou was born in Steele, Missouri to the late Edward and Lora (Moore) Burke. Martha Lou was a member of First Baptist Church in Blytheville and was very involved in the Blytheville Women’s Club, the Gardening Club, and the Women’s Missionary Union at church. She was a homemaker who loved to sew and bake. Entertaining friends and family in her home was one of many things she enjoyed doing. Martha Lou was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, H.L. Halsell, and second husband, Jim Nowlin;

Martha Lou leaves four children, Judy Gray and her husband Tony of Chesterfield, Missouri, Marta Fiorello and her husband Joe of Niceville, Florida, David Halsell and his wife Beth of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and April Nowlin Crockett and her husband Mike of Collierville, Tennessee; one sister, Jonell Thomas of Greenville, Michigan; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16th at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering at First Baptist Church in Blytheville.
