Betty Jean Cook Vann

Mrs. Betty Jean Cook Vann was born June 27, 1936 in Okolona, Arkansas to the late H.L. Cook and the late Mattie Swink Cook. She held a Master’s Degree in Education and was a retired teacher. She attended Carter’s Temple in Blytheville. Mrs. Cook passed away on December 8, 2017 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 81.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Paquita Reed Johnson; three brothers, Hosie Cook, Paul Cook and Billy Cook.

She is survived by her husband, David Vann of Blytheville; two sisters, Sarah Moore and Shirley (Milton) Cook Carter, both of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren, D’Antquonese Reed of Jonesboro, Teauna Reed of Plano, Texas and George (Jackie) Reed of Cisco, Texas; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville with Rev. Jeff Flanigan officiating. The burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Blytheville.
