Jacqueline Jean Haley

Mrs. Jacqueline Jean Williams was born December 20, 1951 to Johnny and Carye Williams in Parkin, Arkansas. She was the third of six children. At the age of two she moved to Blytheville with her family. Jackie attended Richard B. Harrison high school. Her favorite sport of participation was basketball where she played the position of center for the Harrison High School Dragons. Jackie was also voted Harrison High School yearbook Queen. Jackie chose to remain at Richard B. Harrison High School to graduate in 1968, which was the last year of segregated public high schools in Mississippi County. Jackie enjoyed many other activities but she loved basketball most of all.

Jackie was married to Lawrence Edward Haley on March 17, 1974. She was a surrogate mother and legal guardian to a number of children including five of her own. Jackie was certified as a dental hygienist from Burdette Vocational Technical Institute. Later she worked with the Area Agency On Aging providing healthcare to elderly patients. She also worked with special needs children through the Economic Opportunity Commission F.O.C.U.S. program.

Jackie accepted Christ and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville, under the leadership of Reverend Thurman J. Green. Jackie’s church ministry lead her to counseling women within the church body. She ministered for twenty years at Gospel Temple Baptist Church in Luxora, ten years at Christ Temple Baptist Church in Blytheville and was an official greeter for worship services at Calvary Southern Baptist Church in North Las Vegas, Nevada where she welcomed worshippers with a handshake, hug and smile all of which under the pastoral leadership of her husband. Her quiet and humble spirit was to know Jesus Christ and make Him better known.

Jackie leaves to cherish in her loving memory her husband, Dr. Lawrence E. Haley of Las Vegas, Nevada; her children, Eric D. Haley (Asia Camacho-Haley) of Blytheville, Edward L. Haley (Schandra N. Haley) of Gastonia, N.C., Stephanie J. Riley (Mario M.. Riley) of Eastvale, Calif., Jennifer L. Haley-Walker (Etiwan T. Walker) of California, Md., Ronald R. Williams Jr. (Jasmine J. Encarcion-Williams) of Las Cruces, N.M. and Mylek Williams of Blytheville; grandchildren, Deangelo D. Haley, Octavian J. Haley, Eric D. Haley, Jr., Christopher J. Haley, Micah J. Haley, Edward L. Haley, II, Donovan W. Haley, Tyler L. Riley, Tyson A. Riley, Justus M. Moody and Taryn O. Riley; great grandchildren, Jeremiah D. Haley, Jayniah D. Haley, Tayvion J. Haley and Treyson C. Haley; siblings, Billie R. Partee, Michael R. Williams, Ronald R. Williams Sr. and Kimberly A. Brown; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces other family and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Carye Williams; brother, Danny G. Williams; daughter, Keysha V. Williams and grandson, Joshua I. Haley.

Jackie departed this life on November 17, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.
