Mr. Thomas Bacon Majors, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Bacon Majors, Jr. passed away on November 12, 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama. Tom was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 26, 1925 to Thomas B. Majors, Sr. and Vivian Valera Wilson Majors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Becky and Floy; and his brother, Bob.

Tom proudly served his country as an Air Force pilot in WWII flying both B-25’s and P-38’s. On his return from service he married his high school sweetheart Edna Frances Dupree Majors. They were married 71 years at the time of his death.

Tom and his wife, Edna, raised their three children in Memphis, Tenn. where they be-longed to Colonial Park United Methodist Church for over 50 years. In their mid-70’s, they moved to Westminster Village in Blytheville, near their daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bob Ramey. During that time they were members of First United Methodist Church of Blytheville.

In 2016, Tom and Edna moved to Birmingham, Ala., to live with their son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Nancy Majors. While in Birmingham, Tom and Edna worshipped at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Edna; and their three children, Becky Ramey (Bob), Angie Majors (Linda) and Tom Majors (Nancy). His legacy includes six grandchildren, Angela Mahan (Alan), Drew Ramey (Julia), Tommy Majors (Kristen), Art Majors (Abbye), Tim Majors (Kriztel) and John Michael Majors. Tom loved his six great-grandchildren, Zack Mahan, Maggie Mahan, Jacob Blankenship, Crafton Blankenship, Lake Ramey and Noah Ramey. He will also be missed by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Tom in Birmingham, Ala. on November 20, 2017.
