Faith Spears White

Tuesday, October 24, 2017

Mrs. Faith Spears White was born in Akron, Ohio in 1928, and devoted her life and love to the service of God’s Kingdom and her family the whole of her 89 years, until she went home to glory on October 14, 2017 in Peoria, Arizona.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Steve Spears and wife Teri; daughter, Judi Boyd and husband Randall; two deceased infant sons, David Lamar Spears and Daniel Joseph Spears; two sisters, Lane Scott and Martha (Jerry) Jones; four grandchildren, Shane (Teryn) Spears, Shannon Spears, Jacob Boyd, and Rebecca (Tyler) Boyd Wilson; and six great-grandchildren, Steven Seth Spears, Tenney Eli Spears, Ben Zachariah Spears, Levi Samuel Spears, Zoe Faith Harris, and Scarlett Faith Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Doyle Spears and her second husband, L.C. White; her parents, Lester and Ethel McFarland; brothers, Ray, Robert, and Ronnie McFarland and brother-in-law Wilber Scott.

Faith committed her life to ministry at an early age, and began learning to play and sing in church, as well as work as a teacher. After her marriage to Doyle Spears, the couple spent their entire life together in ministry. They pastored churches in Hartford City, Indiana, Longview, Texas, Jayess, Mississippi and Pearl, Mississippi. They also spent many years in the mission field, ministering in over 30 countries worldwide. Faith loved to play and sing to her Lord and led music in services everywhere they traveled. She raised their children, Steve and Judi, to love the work of ministry, and both of them maintain it as their full-time occupation to this day. She continued to work in ministry even into her golden years, serving in churches in West Virginia with her second husband, L.C. White, and eventually in Steve and Teri’s church in Blytheville.

Faith was never afraid to get her hands dirty and get the job at hand done, which earned her the nickname “Charlie” amongst her family and friends. She loved people and was easily able to bring out smiles everywhere she went, with sincere compliments, words of praise and readily offered prayers. She was a warrior in worship and interceded tirelessly for her family; and was never happier than when she could cook them a meal and host them in her home. She had a unique sense of style, a sparkle in her eye, a laugh on her lips and she will be dearly missed.

Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
