Mr. Jerry Wayne Statler, Sr., 73, of Millington, Tennessee, passed away on the afternoon of October 9, 2017. Mr. Statler was a fabric cutter for Americo and a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington, Tennessee.

Mr. Statler is survived by his wife, Sharon Young Statler of Millington, Tenn.; his son, Jerry Wayne (Amy) Statler, Jr. of Southaven, Miss.; his daughters, Teresa Statler (Doug) Worley of Fults, Ill. and Teresa Statler of W. Va.; his step-children, Anthony Scott (Teresa) Young, Sr. of Olive Branch, Miss., Brian Edward (Tracey) Young of Tuscon, Ariz. and Michelle Young (Jeff) Thompson of Covington, Tenn.; his brothers, Charles Statler of Salem, Elsworth Statler of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Larry Statler of Russellville; his sisters, Joyce Ann Statler and Bonnie Sue Statler Carter of Blytheville; and thirteen grandchildren.

Mr. Statler was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Johna Lee Gillette Statler; his brother, David Albert Statler; his sister, Bobbie Jane Statler Swain; and by his grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Golden and Eric Nathaniel Worley.

The services for Mr. Statler will be held on Thursday, October 12, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Covington, Tenn. with visitation starting an hour prior. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chuck Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church building fund.
