Mrs. Donna Mae Poole, 82, of Blytheville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Donna was born in Holcomb, Missouri to William L. and Sylvia (Long) Sturgeon. She was retired from the Blytheville Air Force Base where she was the arts and crafts director. Donna wrote poetry, played guitar, and was an accomplished artist. At one time, one of Donna’s paintings and ceramic plaques that she made for several military personnel was hanging in the Pentagon. She loved being with her family, friends, church family, and her cocker spaniel, Beauty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy T. Poole; her parents; a brother, Hubert Sturgeon; and a step-sister.

Donna leaves her two children, Tom Poole and his wife Tracy of Paragould and Alice Lercher and her husband Mark of Searcy; one brother, W.L. “Dub” Sturgeon and his wife Kay of Kennett, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christina Torres and her husband Alex Barton, Melissa Torres, Alan Poole, Ryan Poole and Rachel Poole; two step-grandchildren, Greg Lercher and Ashley Gonyea; and four step-great-grandchildren, Carter, Elliana, Witten, and Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30 at Gosnell Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Gosnell Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Gosnell Baptist Church Youth.
