Mr. Bobby Lee Wamble, 83, of Jonesboro formerly of Blytheville, passed from this life at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

Bobby was born on May 10, 1934 in the Leachville area. He joined the Marine Corp at a very young age and he served our country from 1951 to 1974. He achieved rank of Captain while serving three tours during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the military, he earned a degree from Mississippi County Community College, before starting his own trucking business. He managed the Midsouth Sales Company in Blytheville and he was working as the Mississippi County service officer for 12 years until his last retirement. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and a lifetime member with the American Legion where he served as Post Commander two times with the Blytheville Post, one time for the Jonesboro Post, one time as the Arkansas State Commander and as the National Executive Committeeman. He moved from Blytheville to Jonesboro over 10 years ago where he enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and golfing. He was a very loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Puckett; wife, Karen Wamble; and several siblings.

He is survived by two sons, Greg Wamble and his wife Vicki of West Point Miss. and Chris Wamble and his wife Leighanne of Southaven, Miss.; two grandchildren, Easton Wamble of Southaven, Miss. and Allyn Wamble of West Point, Miss.; six siblings, Joe Puckett of Des Arc, Mary Taylor of West Helena, Shelia Caruthers of Des Arc, Jean Schrader of Alabama, Rick Puckett of Heber Spring and Cecil Puckett of Cotton Plant; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Emerson Funeral Home, and a celebration of life service will start at 6:30 p.m. with Ron Taylor and family speaking.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Arkansas Veteran Cemetery in North Little Rock with full military honors.
