Mrs. Martha Jones Jefferson, 63, of Blytheville died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born September 10, 1953 in Blytheville, Martha was the daughter of J.P. and Dee Ella Johnson Jones. She was a graduate of Blytheville High School and was employed at American Greetings in Osceola for 35 years. Martha was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and sang in the Adult Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Juanita Rogers and Doris White.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her husband of 43 years, Frank Jefferson III;

Two daughters, Felisa Jefferson of the home and Sharonda (Wiley) Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla.;

One granddaughter, Brianna Jefferson of the home;

Eight sisters, Bernice Sewell of Walkersville, Md., Berna Jones of Benton Harbor, Mich., Essie Smith of Sherwood, Velma Jefferson of Jonesboro and Virginia Mosley, Lillian (John) Lewis, Flora Patton and Carolyn (Willie) Henderson, all of Blytheville;

Four brothers, Ivory (Bobbie) Jones of Benton Harbor, Mich., J.P. Jones, Jr. of Blytheville, Glendell (Roberta) Jones of Clarkston, Mo., and Larry (Deborah) Jones of Benton Harbor, Mich.;

Family by choice, Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Fords of Blytheville and Amertis Ford of Blytheville;

Five grandchildren;

Seven great grandchildren;

and many niece, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.

Funeral services for Martha will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1630 West Street, Blytheville with Reverend Bennie Washington officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at St. Paul MB Church.
