Police: No foul play at Sonic
After receiving several calls, Blytheville police arrived at Sonic on East Main around 8:12 a.m. Friday for a welfare check.
The lights were on, but no one was responding to police or customers, according to Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson. After investigating, police determined it was a personnel issue, according to Thompson.
Officers waited for a keyholder, who arrived at 8:44 a.m., and they found no one in the building. Nothing was reported missing or out of place.
Police then went to an employee’s house to check on him, and they learned another employee had called in, saying she wouldn’t be in until 10 a.m. Friday.
Thompson thanked residents for notifying police of their concerns.
