Effie May Steen

Mrs. Effie May Steen, 65, of Marked Tree, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017. Born May 21, 1951, in Bondsville, to the late Dallas Pete and Redius Raines Elrod, she was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Lepanto.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Carlton Steen; son, Harold Wayne Wood; one sister, Gearldine Sims and one brother, Tony Elrod.

Mrs. Steen leaves four daughters, Karen Rodgers of Cullman, Ala., Barbara South of Manila, Gwendolyn Mae Wood of West Plains, Mo. and Donna Riedberger of Hartselle, Al.;

One son, Kenneth Douglass Wood of Manila;

One sister, Martha Richards of Marion;

Two brothers, A.Z. Elrod and Earnest Elrod;

Sixteen grandchildren; and

Twenty Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the First Pentecostal Church in Lepanto with Brother Neely officiating. Burial will follow at Potter Cemetery in Lepanto. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at The First Pentecostal Church of Lepanto.

Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of the services.
