Zelver Lawshea

Mr. Zelver Lawshea, 78, of Blytheville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home. Born August 21, 1938 in Dell, Arkansas to Eddie Lawshea, Sr. and Mary Robinson Lawshea, at an early age, Zelver confessed a hope in Christ. For many years Zel was a farm worker at Stevens Farms, later joining Carlock Automotive where he worked for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and five brothers.

Zel leaves to cherish his memory, a son Ronald “Ronnie” (Sherry) Scott of Blytheville;

Step-son George (Diane) Spinks of Blytheville;

Six brothers, Dr. Rufus (Jennette) Lawshea of Chicago, Ill., Robert (Bernadette) Johnson of Morganville, Kentucky, Jimmy (Marion) Rose of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Bernard Lawshea, Nate Lawshea, and John Lawshea all of Cleveland, Ohio;

Nine sisters, Viola Staples of Blytheville, Leora Shephard of Clearwater, Florida, Sadie (Lamar) Brown of Chicago, Ill., Rosie (Bojack) Westmoreland of Blytheville and Edna Lawshea, Dorothy Lawshea, Diane Lawshea, Money Lawshea and Angela Lawshea all of Cleveland, Ohio;

A “Special Friend” and many nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

Funeral services for Zelver Lawshea will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 712 Linda Street, Blytheville. Reverend Burton Furlow is the eulogist with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville.

Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral services at noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

McDonald-Horne Funeral Directors are in charge of services and arrangements.
