A Chickasawba District Circuit Court jury found 27-year old Anfernee Wells guilty of first degree murder Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of Vincent Stone, which occurred immediately following a basketball game at Williams Park on June 22, 2015.

Wells was sentenced to 40 years in prison at Arkansas Department of Corrections and must serve at least 70 percent of that sentence before he can become eligible for parole.

The co-defendant in the case, Daniel Johnson, was previously found guilty on April 20, 2016 and was sentenced to life in prison.

The prosecutors in the case were Curtis Walker, Jr and Gina Knight. Wells’ defense attorney was Little Rock attorney Robert Rellez.
