Legislature tackles dual county seat issues

A member of the Arkansas House of Representatives and a member of the Arkansas Senate have filed bills that would, if passed, repeal the language found less than a week ago by the Arkansas Supreme Court [from section 20 of Act 81 (1901)] that prohibits the Mississippi County Quorum Court from using countywide tax revenue for the purpose of financing the county hospitals and to, in the words of the Court, use an "illegal exaction" to finance the construction of a new Courthouse in Blytheville "solely for the benefit of the Chickasawba District."
