Verna Curry

Mrs. Verna Curry, 91, of Benton, Arkansas and formerly of Blytheville, passed away February 13, 2017 at Southern Trace Nursing and Rehab in Bryant, Arkansas.

Verna was born to Wallace and Mattie (Johnson) Garner in DeRoche, Arkansas. She was retired from Blytheville Public Schools and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She also worked at Gibson Discount Center. Verna loved to play bingo, scrabble and to cook for her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Curry; her parents; and three brothers.

Verna leaves her children, Winford Curry (Donna) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Joyce Kamey (Jerry) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Mike Curry (Sally) of Mayfield, Kentucky, Rodney Curry (Pam) of Conway, Arkansas, and Janet Gipson (Gary) of Alexander, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 16 in Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Allan Eakin officiating. There will be no visitation.
