Frances Dorris Austin

Mrs. Frances Dorris Austin, 88, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at St. Vincent North Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Frances was born in Toccopola, Mississippi to Joe and Nora (Calder) Hewlett. She was a retired lunchroom worker at Central School and was a member of Gosnell Baptist Church. Frances was a member of the Gosnell Extension Homemakers Club. She loved to make quilts and crafts. She also loved to travel, especially to Hardy and to St. Louis to see her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dorris; her parents; and siblings, R.E., Sammy, and Doc Hewlett, Faye Schmidt, and Louise Davis.

Frances leaves her children, Michael Thomas Dorris and wife Relda of St. Louis, Missouri, Paulette Neeley and husband Ray of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carol Cook of Blytheville; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 7 in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
