Mr. Phillip Johnson, 72, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Phillip was born to Johnny and Lou Eva (Phillips) Johnson in Yarbro. He was retired from Nucor-Hickman and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Phillip liked to hunt, fish, work in his garden and do wood work. He built the Nucor-Hickman Santa Claus float that is still being used in Christmas parades.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Phillip leaves his wife, Brenda Azbill Johnson of the home; his fur baby, Dixie Rose; brother, Terry Johnson and his wife Becky of Clarksville, Tennessee; sisters, Johnnie Lou King of England, Arkansas and Sally Robinson and her husband Mike of Blytheville; sister-in-law, Linda Burton and her husband Joe Don of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; special friends, Shawn and Linda Nowlin of Steele and Dr. Ronald and Lisa Smith of Blytheville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Jumper and Rev. Mike Wey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
