Jimmy Lee "Pokey" Kuykendall

Mr. Jimmy Lee Kuykendall "aka" Pokey of Blytheville, AR was born January 9, 1960 to L J Kuykendall Sr. and the late Lessie B. Hinton-Kuykendall in Blytheville. Mr. Kuykendall departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at Great Rivers Hospital in Blytheville at the age of 56. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Kuykendall graduated from Blytheville High School in 1978, and later moved to Germany where he served 15 years in the Army. He also worked as a Sheriff Correctional Officer, Blytheville Police Department and NIBCO in Blytheville.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lessie B. Hinton-Kuykendall and his brother Crist Kuykendall.

Mr. Kuykendall leaves his wife Gloria Kuykendall, father L J Kuykendall SR. both of Blytheville, two daughters Cassandra Kuykendall of Fort Worth, Texas and Lauren Kuykendall of Blytheville, four sisters Gloria Jones of Henderson, Nev., Margaret Woods, Audra Kuykendall and Bessie Kuykendall all of Blytheville, five brothers Earnest Smith of Blytheville, Willie Kuykendall of Leesburg, Fla., L. J. Kuykendall, JR. of Clarksville, Tenn., David Kuykendall of Los Angeles, Calif. and Marcus Young of Jonesboro, three grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 09, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at New St. Paul Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at New St. Paul Church with the Rev. Clark Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Blytheville.
