Mr. Donald Maurice Nelson, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was born on March 15, 1944 in Blytheville to the late George Alvin and the late Lillie Mae Nelson. He was a graduate of Blytheville High School and attended Arkansas State University. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of All Saints Church in Hot Springs Village. He loved to play golf, dance, travel and watch football as much as share stories. Being in the sales profession, he became known as "famous" for his sales ability.

Mr. Nelson leaves his wife of 40-years, Katrecia "Pete" Nelson of Hot Springs Village;

Two daughters, Raven Nelson of Hot Springs Village and Beverly Glass of Dallas, Texas;

Three sons, Don (Karen) Nelson, Jr. of Benton, Ark., Rob Nelson of Maumelle, Ark. and T.C. Cruise of Bentonville, Ark.;

Two brothers, Billy Joe (Lurlene) Nelson of Blytheville, Ray Bunch of Rodgers, Ark.;

One sister, Fay McCarty of Rodgers, Ark;

Three grandsons, Don Nelson III, Ryan Nelson and Felex Nelson; and

Several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Chapel in Blytheville with Reverend Kendrick Lewis officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until service time. Arkansas Cremation has been in charge of the arrangements.
