Patsy Jane McHaffey Haynes, 82, of Blytheville passed from this life on Sunday, June 5. She was born to Isaac Murray and Willie Mildred Goff McHaffey, February 16, 1934, in Blytheville, AR. She graduated from Blytheville High School and received an Art degree from Arkansas State University. Patsy was an artist in every sense. She was an art teacher at Gosnell High School from 1969 until her retirement in 2004. She completed countless portraits of the family that are treasured to this day. She had a beauty shop in her house fixing up most of the ladies on Shady Lane. She also became a florist, creating masterpieces with flowers. She was a member of the Mississippi County Retired Teachers and the Arkansas Education Association. She was also a member of the Dogwood Demonstration Club. Patsy loved to paint and read, especially her bible. She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Growing up on Shady Lane Patsy loved playing with cousins, her brother, and the rest of the neighborhood children. Many hours were spent under a sycamore tree making hats with the leaves, using the stems as pins, hunting for the prettiest corn dolls out in the corn fields, getting chased by 'little brother' and playing with paper dolls. Patsy was a lot of things to a lot of people during her lifetime; Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Cousin, Niece, but most of all a Friend to all. Everyone that knew her, loved her. She was the caregiver of the family, giving countless hours of her time and energy when a need arose. Patsy loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church where she sang beautifully in the choir.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Haynes; parents, Murray and Mildred; brother, Murray Dewayne McHaffey; niece, Monica McHaffey Bevill and grandniece, Lacy Danielle Bevill.
