Katherine Highland

Katherine "Kathy" Irene Highland, 62, of Caraway, passed from this life Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her home. Born in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Florence Evans Reed and had been a longtime Caraway resident. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant having worked at several area nursing homes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Veach and one brother, Arthur Reed.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Veach, II and his wife Jennifer;

Three daughters, Florence Davis and her husband Tillman Goss, Della Smith and her husband Jerry Griffin and Carolyn Whaley and her husband Rick, all of Caraway;

One brother, Jimmy Reed and his wife Sharon of Manila;

Two sisters, Vera Labumbard and Liz Fuller, both of Michigan;

She also leaves 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, eight nephews and six nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Leachville.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Tommy Veach II, John Pendergrass, Lewis Durham, Rick Whaley, Marvin Wright and Ronnie Reed. Honorary Pallbearers will by Kelly Reed (niece) and William Hightower.
