Mary Esther Hoskins Springer, 101, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home.

Born to Albert and Lula (Polk) Hoskins, Mary was retired from Skill Company where she was a supervisor. She loved church and was very active in church work. Mary was a former member of Half Moon Assembly of God. In earlier years, she was the W.M.C. (ladies director) for the area. For a short time, Mary pastored the Assembly of God Church in Tomato, and later moved to Chicago, Illinois and pastored God's Amazing Grace Church. She served in several places within the church, such as Sunday school teaching and ladies prayer group leader, etc. Mary always took her ministry seriously, and loved to prepare meals for the ministers and their families. She was always there to help those in need and would provide anything she could as the need arose.

Mary loved to garden and fix her beautiful flower beds. She provided other people seed from her flowers for them to start their own flower beds. She also canned many jars of vegetables and shared them with everyone.

She loved to cook for the church get-togethers and family gatherings. Pecan pies and chicken and dressing were her priorities.

Mary will be missed as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Life will be different with her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Bobbie Duncan; two sons, Donald Eugene and David Lee Springer; grandson, Tommy Fulks Jablonski; brothers, Leon, J.W., and Charles Hoskins; sisters, Mildred Hughes, Emma Webb, Lillie Mae Corsaw, Laverne Byzak, Lavada Watson, and Irma Borah.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia Crowell and husband James "Bobby" of Blytheville, and Betty Jablonski of Blytheville, Harold Springer of Blytheville;

Son-in-law, Edward Duncan of Sikeston;

Sister, Alvie "Shorty" Skelton of Blytheville;

Eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Morris officiating. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
