Joy Wooldridge Riggs, 86, of Brandon, Miss. and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at Highland Home Nursing Center in Ridgeland, Miss.

Born to Rufus and Iantha (Rustin) Wooldridge, Joy was a homemaker and was a longtime resident of Blytheville. She was a member of the LoneOak, Mississippi County, and the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council, having served as President at the local, county, and state levels. Over the years she was also active with the 4H Club, PTA, Mississippi County Fair Association, and numerous other organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie B. Riggs; her parents; one brother; and six sisters.

Joy is survived by her children, Tonya R. Houston and her husband Morris of Brandon, Miss. and Beverly R. Howell and her husband Frank of Ridgeland, Miss.;

Brothers, Bob Wooldridge of Oklahoma City, Hershell Wooldridge of Blytheville, Sterling "Scooter" Wooldridge of Mountain Home, and Gary Don Wooldridge of Midwest City, Okla.;

Sister Becky Simmons of Blytheville;

Grandchildren, Amy (John) Hunt, Zac (Jennifer) Houston, and Jonathan (Kay) Howell;

Great-grandchildren, Hollyn and Trent Houston, Addison and Caroline Hunt, and Sadie Howell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tim Wooldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
