Judge rules in favor of city regarding jail fees; county reacts

Strong responses were elicited across Mississippi County Tuesday afternoon, as county officials and those from the City of Blytheville reacted to a summary judgement handed down by Circuit Judge John Fogleman in the matter of over $700,000 in back jail fees which the county alleged were owed by the city. Fogleman sided with Blytheville, which nullifies most, if not all, of that debt and leaves the county planning a Supreme Court appeal and searching for new methods to pay for the housing of Blytheville's prisoners.
