Mary Lou Williams

Mary Lou Williams, 77, of Manila, passed from this life October 13, 2015 at her home. Born near Manila, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dora Katherine Stokes Deason and had been a lifelong area resident.

A 1956 graduate of Manila High School, Mary Lou worked as a seamstress for Ely Walker Shirt Factory and Mid-South Footwear, both formerly of Manila, and later worked several years as a dispatcher for the Manila Police Department. Mary Lou was a member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Keith Scott, two brothers, Bennie Deason and Eulis Deason, and one sister, Betty Brown.

Survivors include one son, Chad Scott of Manila;

Two daughters, Tammy Scott and her companion John Thacker, and Dianna Parks and her husband Darrin, all of Manila.

She also leaves 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday October 21 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila, with Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial in Manila Cemetery will be private.
