Letter to the Editor

Reader thankful for messages on church sign

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

Dear Editor,

In today's society it seems all we hear anymore is all the negative in this world so I felt led to write about a positive for Blytheville. As a long time former member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, I was heartbroken when the decision to consolidate with Dell UMC was made. I understood the reason for this and Dell UMC is a wonderful church, however, with the closing of Aldersgate I no longer could drive by expecting to read an uplifting message on the sign which I always enjoyed and appreciated the members that took time to make sure a message was always there.

The church was closed for a while but a way was made for Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church to get this beautiful church and resume the wonderful uplifting messages. I want to personally recognize their work and wonderful messages that are always displayed out front on the sign for all to read as they drive by the church at Ruddle and Main. I, for one, am touched each time I drive by and read these messages and feel like they are God's blessings to all who read them.

Thank you Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and keep up the good work! As the saying goes, they may mean nothing to the world but they may mean the world to one person! I may be one but I know there has to be more. God Bless You!!!
