Jean Henderson

Jean Henderson, 91, of Blytheville, departed this life Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born to Joseph and Eva Beal Whitaker, Jean was a retired Medical Insurance Clerk and was a believer in Jesus since her early childhood. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Blytheville where she served as pianist for her S.S. department and secretary for her class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star where she reached the status of Worthy Matron. Jean was talented in many areas playing the piano and had a gift for taking care of flowers. She was an avid reader of many Christian books. Jean loved and cherished her family and was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Henderson; her son, Mark Henderson; three brothers, Don, Joe, and Albert Whitaker; son-in-law, Hugh Whatley; and her great-grandchild, Sam Turner.

Jean is survived by her children, Michael Henderson of Branson, Miss., Rev. David Henderson and his wife Denise of New Port Richey, Flo., Teresa Henderson Whatley of Blytheville, and Gary Henderson and his wife Cindy of Charleston, S.C.;

A sister, Ruth Garner and her husband Charles of Blytheville;

Grandchildren, Dana Henderson, Nikki Childers (Jeff), David Henderson, Jr. (Aldara), Brian Henderson (Kat), Ross Henderson (Brittany), Allison Turner (Travis), Michael Henderson, Brittany Henderson, and Chad Whatley; and

Great-grandchildren, Hayden Childers, Madison Childers, Parker Childers, Aubrey Childers, David Warren Henderson 3rd , Patrick Henderson, Jackson Henderson, Scarlett Henderson, Terrence Henderson, Clara Henderson, and Brady Turner.

Funeral services are Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Blytheville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time at the church.
