Ova Bearden

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Ova Dean Meacham Bearden, age 84 of Blytheville, passed from this life on Monday, July 13, 2015 at her home. Born to William and Jessie Perry Vasser in Manila, Arkansas, she was a lifelong area resident, retired employee of Bush's Canning Company and of the Baptist Faith.

Ova Dean was preceded in death by her husbands, J. B. Meacham and Van D. "Bill" Bearden; daughter Shirley Meacham Nimmo and seven brothers.

Since cooking was her job at Bush's you would think she would have had her fill when she got home, but she knew the food wouldn't appear by magic. She chose to "enjoy" cooking for her family and friends for it always seemed as if someone was in the kitchen eating but she enjoyed the time of fellowship more. As a mother, she did everything possible to ensure that her children and grandchildren were provided the best childhood they could receive. She was a diligent wife and helped to provide the income necessary to meet their needs. As a friend of Ova Deans', you were rewarded with a lasting, significant impact on your life. She looked upon friendship as an endearing appreciation for each other rather than what you could do for her. Most of these attributes came easy for her because of her deep faith in Jesus Christ. Up until the day she went home, she confessed him as her savior and done all she could to encourage others to place their faith in him also. Her love for Christ helped her thru many struggles in life and she was always quick to tell who made it all possible.

Ova Dean is survived by her son, Monty Meacham and his wife Lisa of Blytheville;

Granddaughters, Donna Renee' Johns of Marion, Vanessa Boyd of Blytheville; and

Three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Holifield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time and burial will be private services. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
