Edna Ennis Rodgers

Mrs. Edna Ennis Rodgers, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015, with both her daughters by her side.

She was lifelong resident of the Promised Land community near Blytheville.

Born in July of 1932 in northwest Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ennis and Lola Hardesty Ennis. Mrs. Rodgers was a devout Christian woman and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was a faithful employee of the Blytheville Public schools for 21 years as a cafeteria worker. Her hobbies included cooking, cleaning and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Owen "Bo" Rodgers in 1987, also from Blytheville. Also preceding her in death were her older sister, Mary Brooks Greer of Blytheville and Clifford Ennis of Iowa.

Survivors of Mrs. Rodgers include her daughter, Glenda Nokes and her husband Phillip of Hot Springs and Susan Rogers and her husband Tony of Conway. All are former residents of Blytheville.

Surviving grandchildren include granddaughter Jill Nokes Ziegler and her husband Chris, and one great-granddaughter, Madeline of Jonesboro; grandson Matthew and wife Kasey Nokes of Conway; and granddaughter Holly Rogers Gaines and husband Matthew Gaines and two great-grandsons, Weston and Owen, of Conway.

She is also survived by her youngest sister Gladys Dolly Goodman of Bastrop, Louisiana.

Private graveside services were held Friday at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Terri Brassfield officiating, and Cobb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
