Don't park in the fire lane

Friday, March 27, 2015

To the editor:

I have a real problem with lazy people on the Kroger parking lot. These people park in front of the Kroger fire lane. Sometimes it may be there for up to one hour. The lines are red in color, stating fire lane and no parking.

I guess they think that doesn't mean them. Sometimes I think they don't think what the lane means it that it's a firefighter lane. A firetruck could fight a fire if it happened; they could get to the fire so they may not have a car, or worse, they and many others would not have a life.

I want to say a huge thanks for Terri G. of the animal control center and Humane Society of Blytheville. Terri is a very hard worker and it shows in her ways.

I have gotten to know her this year. There was a mama dog and her pups, she and her 10 babies. This took a lot of time and work -- she got four one time, two another time and the then three, including mama, and one last pup.

I watched her set traps to no avail. She was all over this place, but she did it.

There was this small beautiful chihuahua. I just loved it. He would visit my dog on the patio and they played. When we walked, he would walk with us. One afternoon and early evening, it was raining, and he was very cold, so I let him in to spend the night with us. He was so sweet and pretty.

I don't know what kind of salary she gets, but it's not enough.
