John Thomas Carson, 98, of Marked Tree, died of heart failure on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Three Rivers in Marked Tree.

Born July 22, 1916, in Lepanto, he was a farmer and a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Crason and Estella Robertson; his wife, Georgia Carson; a grandson Curtis Carson; a son-in-law, Buckie Fires; two sisters, Pauline Harris and Lucille Nash; and three brothers, Chester, Carlos and Mann Carson.

Mr. Carson leaves two daughters, Patricia Fires and Guanna Combs;

One son, John Henry Carson; and

Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Funeral services, officiated by Jeff Heitman, will begin at 1 p.m., following visitation. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery in Marked Tree.
