Mrs. Venola Fay Taylor, 94, Blytheville, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

She was born in Memphis and moved to Blytheville nearly 75 years ago. She was the widow of Curtis Taylor. She was a dedicated and devoted member of Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ for most of her 75 years in Blytheville. She served in many capacities and auxiliaries of the church. She was one of the musicians in the church, playing a guitar and signing. She made a joyful noise and was an instrument of peace. Life was a simple recipe for her. She started with an unwavering faith in God, an unconditional love for family, mixed in lots of lasting relationships with friends and treated others with the dignity God gave them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Alberta McDonald; her husband, Curtis Taylor; her sisters, Jessie McDonald, Fannie Mae B. Martin and Iola Mitchell; a brother, A.B. "Son" McDonald; a daughter, Juanita Parnell; a son, Bobby Parnell; and two grandsons, Charlie and Wendell Wimberly.

She leaves behind two sons, R.C. Parnell of Blytheville and James Deaner of Norfolk, Virginia;

A daughter, Mrs. Lessie (Charlie) Wimberly of Blytheville; and

Twenty-four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ, at McHaney and 2nd streets, in Blytheville with Elder D.L. Corn, pastor. The family will receive visitors from noon until the service Saturday. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens Blytheville.
