Earl Smith

Earl Smith, 79, of Tyronza, died of heart failure on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, in Jonesboro.

Born Jan. 17, 1936, in Florence, Alabama, he was a retired farmer and a Pentecostal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Smith and Maudie Smith; his wife, Laura Smith; a son, Roy Rogers Johnson; and three brothers, Dick Smith, Rex Smith and Sam Smith.

Mr. Smith leaves two special nieces, Ann Chapman of Tyronza and Brenda Lard of Jonesboro;

His twin sister, Merl (Billy) Hood of Tyronza, and sisters Helen (Leroy) Turner of Payneway, Edna Davis of Trumann and Elsie Witt of Trumann; and

One brother, Clarence (Mary) Smith of Trumann.

Funeral services, officiated by Brother Lynn Vinson, were held Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza; burial was at Tyronza Cemetery.
