Educational award

Friday, February 13, 2015

Pam Burnham, Chapter D chairman of the PEO Program for Continuing Education (PCE), recently announced that Blytheville resident Tamara Price has received a 2015 award to assist with her education at Arkansas State University. Price is the single mother of a 6-year-old son. She was raised in extreme poverty along with seven brothers and sisters. Her mother was addicted to drugs when she was younger, and being the oldest of the children, she found herself having to care for her younger siblings. Even through the adversity she still managed to graduate in the top 10 percent of her class. She is the first person in her immediate family to graduate high school, and upon completion of her degree will also be the first to graduate from college. Price is pictured with Melissa Braswell.
