Charles L. Harris

Mr. Charles L. Harris, 71, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at his home.

Born June 3, 1943, to the late Edward Sr., and Georgia Robinson Harris, he worked at John Deere Harvester Works and loved cooking, Western movies, sports, playing cards and bar tending.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Chandler; and three siblings, Edward Harris Jr., Danny Harris and Evelyn Harris.

Mr. Harris leaves his wife, Denise Perry;

Two sons, Charles L. (Sharmella) Harris Jr., of Antioch, Illinois, and Damon Harris of Silvis, Illinois;

Two daughters, Marilyn J. Harris of Silvis and Sandra R. (Bernard) Johnson of Gobsonia, Pennsylvania;

Three step-daughters, Cynthia E. (Dyrrell) McCoy of Rock Island, Illinois, Dione R. (Tyray) Daniels of Metholian, Illinois, and Erica L. Wells of Lindenhurst, Illinois;

Two sisters, Rose (Jerry) Morrow and Dorothy Davis; and

Six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in East Moline. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Memorials can be made to the family.
