Danny L. Cosbey, 59, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2014, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born to U.L. and Della (Knott) Cosbey in Wabash, Indiana, Danny was a journeyman commercial electrician by trade. Danny served his country with honor with the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was truly a man of his word, always ensuring that what he promised someone would be accomplished. His word was usually sealed by the old method of shaking hands, which was a trait of honesty and respect. Danny was also a dependable, devoted and loving husband, grandfather great-grandfather and brother. When it came to friendship he was devoted, and any one of his friends would become like family.

His family was most important in his life and he loved all his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs since they were just like his babies. Before his disability, he loved riding his Harley and enjoyed fishing, especially for catfish.

His parents and two brothers, Billy Ray Cosbey and Jerry Wayne Cosbey, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beverly Dotson Cosbey;

One son, Danny Glenn Cosbey and Tammy of Branson, Missouri;

Two daughters, Stacy Weir and Bruce of Bradenton, Florida, and Melinda Wing and Mike of Harrisburg;

Three sisters, Joyce Pearson and Bill of Manito, Illinois, Sandra Crafton and James of Burdette and Linda "Sissie" Hoskins and Danny of Blytheville;

Eleven grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished; and

His best friend, Brother Matt O'Neil.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Committal services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Garden Point Cemetery at Etowah.
