Donald Wayne Emery

The Rev. Donald Wayne Emery, 72, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett.

Born in Senath, Missouri, he was the son of the late Bill and Mary Agnes Thrasher Emery and had been a longtime Kennett resident. He was a 1960 graduate of Senath High School and had been a longtime employee of the Courier News in Blytheville. He retired as the owner/operator of Don's Body Shop in Kennett and has served as pastor of Calvary General Baptist Church in Kennett the past 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Emery; and two sisters, Myrl Milligan and Patricia Wheeler.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Marlin Emery of the home;

His son, Tony Emery of Kennett;

Two daughters, Kathy Emery and Tammy Neel and her husband Jerry, all of Kennett;

Two sisters, Frances Cumpton of Kennett and Virginia Palmer of Memphis; and

Five grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Calvary General Baptist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Randy Cumpton officiating. Burial will follow in the Senath Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Seth Neel, Austin Neel, Dylan Mikel, Don Odom, the Rev. Chris Kennedy and Danny Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Calvary General Baptist Church.
